SUPPORTIM WANTOK FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES FOOD TO THE NEEDY

Prime Minister James Marape’s food foundation program, the Supportim Wantok Foundation, aimed at feeding the needy in the nation’s capital, continued its distribution program over the weekend.
Chairman of the Supportim Wantok Foundation Pastor Aki Pawa and his team last Friday presented three truckloads of local organic food bought from villages in Central Province to the Port Moresby Ela Beach SDA church to distribute in the city.
In collaboration with NCD Governor Powes Parkop and Central Governor Robert Agarobe, the program aims to feed families in settlements and those in Port Moresby affected by the 21-day lockdown.
The Port Moresby Ela Beach SDA church was chosen because of its initial food programs in the city.
“This is a continuation of the distribution program by Central Governor Robert Agarobe,” Pastor Pawa said.
“We are distributing these food rations to any member of the community who is in need, and we have chosen the SDA church who will collaborate with other churches because they already have their feeding structured programs.”
Last week, Governor Parkop and Governor Agarobe with Prime Minister James Marape launched the program and distributed a feast to the city.
Over the weekend, the program distributed food to residents of Moresby South.
