PNG Judges Report presented to Governor General
PNG Chief Justice Sir Gibs Salika presents the 2018 Judges report to the Governor-General today.
Sir Gibbs said the 2018 Annual Report Contains the reports of all court cases, decisions, hearings, and other administration activities and functions carried out that year.
The Governor-General, after reading the report will pass on to the Speaker of Parliament to present in November sitting this year.
Sir Gibs says the report presented, captures what the courthouse has been doing since January 1st, 2018 to 31st December 2019.
He said the reports also contain outstanding decisions and matters that were brought previous year.
While presenting the 2018 Judges annual report, Sir Gibs also presented the report on the recent Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association Conference that was host by PNG in September this year.
He said that the report highlights the total funds that were used to successfully host the CMJA Conference this year.
Sir Gibbs said his secretaries and judges are working on the 2019 Judges Annual report that will be handed to the Governor-General in the first quarter of 2020.
