PNG's first legal Dictionary launched

A first ever Legal Dictionary written by a Papua New Guinean was launched last night in Port Moresby.

Titled 'Kwa's Legal Dictionary, it was written by one of the country's top legal scholar, and Secretary for the Constitutional and Law Reform Commission, Dr. Eric Kwa.

Minister for Civil Aviation, Alfred Manase, who launched the legal dictionary said it will be a useful tool for judges, lawyers, magistrates, and academics, police prosecutors, law students, secondary school students taking legal studies.

Manase said its also a handy dictionary for the public as it identifies the relevant Supreme and National court cases and statues that define those specific words and phrases and presents them in a simple and concise English.

“The dictionary is written uniquely for Papua New Guinea and the words and phrases cab be interpreted by our Judiciary particularly National and Supreme Courts,” said Manase.
