GULF LANDOWNERS THREATEN

By: Gabriel Bego & Eric Tamaan

Landowners from the InterOil's Wahoo 1 Project site in the Gulf Province are threatening to shutdown the drilling operations currently underway following their demands not met by the company and the state.

The landowners are giving the company and the state seven days to respond to their demands.

Landowners spokesman Jerome Pou says landowner issues have not yet being resolved and InterOil has gone ahead to test drill the Petroleum Prospecting Licensing area 2-3-6, Block Number 1-7-2 of Palipala Hill Range.

The demand include identifying landownership issues and the awarding of the licence.

They are calling on relevant authorities to intervene.
