Prime Minister Peter O'Neill has challenged public servants to do their jobs properly.

Mr. O'Neill says the implementation of the 2013 budget will depend on them, even if outsiders are brought in to strengthen financial capacities:

"If we are not able to manage our own affairs who's gona manage it for us?

"They have to step up to their challenge that this country is demanding that they are account for their responsibilities, they are account for the work that they are paid to do and we are going to keep on pushing them," Mr. O'Neil said.
Mr O''Neill further says government will rely on district treasurers and accountants already trained under the District Services Improvement Program to ensure there is proper financial records of the budget.
