Melanesian Spearhead Group Tourism Meet in PNG's Kokopo
The Melanesian Spearhead Group Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministers Meeting gets underway in Kokopo today.
Ministers responsible for Arts & Culture from across Melanesia will be in Kokopo, East New Britain Province this week for their annual conference.
PNG Tourism, Arts & Culture Minster Emil Tammur, who is also the chairman this year in the revolving chair of this annual meeting, is hosting his colleague ministers and their delegations in his electorate.
On the agenda at this meeting are; Vanuatu’s proposal for a across Melanesia Music Festival and a Melanesian Beauty Pageant, Fiji’s proposal to explore ways to introduce formal cultural education in schools, and a common website for Melanesian arts and culture information.
