Southern Highlands passes K264 million budget

The Southern Highlands Provincial Assembly passed its K264 million 2018 provincial budget at the Agiru-Centre in Mendi focusing on Law and order, and Agriculture.

Deputy Provincial Administrator Cooperate Services Henry Hapen said the budget has been passed by the Provincial Assembly Members under the Chairmanship of Governor William Powi.

The budget was passed right after the swearing in of the Provincial Assembly Members and has been dubbed “one of the best budgets focusing on Law and order, Agriculture and water and sanitation program.”

Happen said for the first time the Provincial Assembly decided to give the PSIP components of the province directly to the District to implement and use.

He praise the initiative of the Governor William Powi with Acting Provincial Administrator Thomas Eluh.
