Youth killed on Boxing Day in Port Moresby

A youth was killed on boxing day at six mile in Port Moresby after he was thrown off a vehicle transporting building materials.

Six mile police confirmed the young man was the only casualty while the driver of the vehicle has been detained and charged.

According to eyewitnesses, a truck carrying building materials particularly of  steel  rods was turning the 6-mile round-about when the steel robs started falling. The youth who was sitting on top of the steel robs at the  back of the truck  tried to stop the steel rods from falling but he was thrown out first and the steel rods fell on top of him  and smashed him to death. 

Police and  health personnel took the body to the  hospital morgue.
