Work begins at Edevu dam site

The construction work on the new Edevu- Naoro Brown Dam has already begun with the developer PNG Hydro Development Ltd planning to finish it before the set date.
According to the General Manager Mr. Allen Gou, the time set for the completion of the dam is 2020; however, Gou said they are looking at having the dam completed by 2018 to coincide with the APEC meeting that will be taking place in Port Moresby city.
The project cost over K500million and will supply additional 80 megawatts of power supply to Port Moresby, plus parts of the Central and Gulf provinces.
