Karepa appointed New NBC Managing Director

The Government has been requested to quickly address the Managing Directorship position of the National Broadcasting Corporation, which Memafu Kapera is currently acting on.
Mr. Kapera issued the call last Friday, following ongoing criticisms, which have been played out in the media.
Kapera said while the process of appointment is underway, the Government must intervene to instill stability, as the NBC continues its re-branding exercise:

Among current reforms, is the launch of a new Current Affairs program on NBC Television, called 'PNG Tonight' with respected journalist, John Eggins next Monday, and the establishment of a new NBC Business Arm early next year.

Meantime, the NBC needs 50 Million Kina annually to operate effectively.
Mr. Kapera revealed this , saying it needs a further 300 Million Kina to rollout its capital expenditure program.
Mr. Kapera was speaking when welcoming the Court's decision in acquitting Board Chairman, Timothy Tala of corruption charges.
