This is so that Departments like the Primary Industry and Commerce can utilize these lands on economic activities that can help Bougainville raise its much needed revenue.
This was the message from the ABG Minister for Primary Industry, NICHOLAS DARKU.
MR. DARKU said that many of the Bougainville’s plantations were paid by the MANTLE Group of companies and the ABG was trying to pay off and return these plantations.
MR. DARKU was responding to questions raised by the women member for Central, MARCHELLIN KOKIAI who wanted the ABG to utilize these plantations to breed Cows for the ABG.
The Minister said that the ABG has allocated some funds in the 2016 BUDGET to make sure some of these plantations are paid back by the ABG.
