KOKODA PREPARE FOR FUZZY WUZZY

The people of Kokoda are now preparing for a two day celebration to observe the Fuzzy Wuzzy Day on the 2nd and 3rd of November.

Former Kokoda Town Mayor Ori Kenia when speaking to NBC News by phone this morning say they will start their celebrations on the 2nd of November to showcase Kokoda.

Mr. Kenia said they display the culture and tradition including traditional dancing, food and their day to day activities.

He says the main event will be on the 3rd, and they've invited the Prime Minister. Peter O'Neill, Member for Sohe, Delilah Gore, and Ijivitari MP David Arore to be part of the celebrations.

Mr. Kenia says there will be a rugby league competition, which has attracted teams from Port Moresby and Popondetta, to play against the Kokoda select sides.

He says a team will be selected from this game to represent Kokoda when it tours Australia early next year.

This will also mark the beginning of a rugby competition between the people of Kokoda and Australia.
