WABAG STUDENTS BLOCK UPNG

The University of Papua New Guinea will address angry Wabag Students Association at a forum today, to discuss the weekend stabbing of the group's President.

NBC News is informed, the President was stabbed with a knife on his hand, head and neck, by two unknown suspects at the back of Uli Beier, on Saturday night.

UNIFORCE Security personnel on campus were told of the incident and transported the wounded student to Port Moresby General Hospital for medical treatment.

It's understood the Wabag students on Sunday, asked UNIFORCE's Chief-of-Staff to investigate the matter, but got no response.

In anger, the students retaliated by using trees they cut on campus, to block off access to lecture venues and the library at the University, this morning.

Police are investigating the incident and also monitoring the situation on campus.
