A small but significant ceremony was held today at the Police Headquarters in Konedobu Port Moresby in recognizing the permanent appointments of two senior officer to the positions of Chief Operations and Chief Administration.
After Cabinet met on Thursday last week, the Prime Minister and his Cabinet has confirmed Deputy Police Commissioner for Operations Jim Andrews as Chief Ops and Deputy Police Commissioner for Administration Raphael Huafolo as Chief Admin.
In announcing and placing their badges on today, the Police Commissioner Garry Baki thanked the cabinet for approving the permanent appointment of these two senior officers in the Royal PNG Constabulary.
Commissioner Baki said that with these two positions filled up, the structure of the police senior ranks is completed and they will move on in getting their work done at their level.
"I am pleased with my senior officers and as i have marked this year a the year of discipline in the force, I am sure that my two deputy's will ensure that strict discipline is exercised at their level in order to keep up the standard of police discipline," said Commissioner Baki.
