Asian logger killed by fallen tree in West Guadalcanal in Solomon Islands
Police at the Henderson Police Station in Guadalcanal Province are investigating the death of an Asian logger at Vatunaba in West Guadalcanal on 22 August 2018.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Nixson Manetoga says, “The incident occurred at Vatunaba, 16 kilometres south of Mamara in West Guadalcanal.”
PPC Manetoga says, “The deceased is an Indonesian national who worked for the Tri Jam Enterprises.”
Superintendent Manetoga adds: “Police believe the deceased was allegedly killed by a fallen tree branch with in the area of the logging operation.”
“Our condolences to the relatives and immediate family of the deceased following this loss of one of your family member,” says PPC Manetoga.
Police are continuing with the investigation into the incident.
