MASIU THANKS THE PNG CENTRAL BANK GOVERNOR
The Member for South Bougainville and Deputy Opposition Leader, TIMOTHY MASIU last Friday thanked the Governor of the Central Bank, LOI BAKANI for including Buin Health Centre in his donations whilst visiting Bougainville.
Member Masiu said that the Buin Health Centre desperately needed a reliable power and the donation will go a long way for the Health Centre which serves as the referral centre for South Bougainville and including the nearby Solomon Islands.
He invited the Governor to visit Buin after the Generator is commissioned and working.
MR. MASIU also called on the Bank’s staff to see how the Bougainvilleans have developed the region without much support from Banks in Papua New Guinea.
He said Bougainville has created many illegal banks after the conflict which helped the people used to build without Government support.
Jokingly he said that based on these if a requests for establishing a Bank comes from Bougainville just approve and licence it.
