Two escapees recaptured in Bougainville
Two remandees from North Bougainville have been recaptured while 16 others still on the run after breaking out from police cell last week on New Year’s Day during a heavy down pour in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
North Bougainville Regional Police Commander Kinsley Lua said police are working closely with Correctional Services to re-capture the remaining remandees.
Lua has appealed to community’s not to harbour them rather assist in handing them over to police and Correctional Service.
He said the escape has caused fear among the communities especially woman and girls and urged them to report anything of suspicion.
He added that police and CS are working closely to apprehend the remandees. PNGFM
