Contract signed for major road rehabilitations in Central Province

Grand Chief Sir Michael Ogio, GCL, GCMG, KStJ, Governor General of Papua New Guinea, today executed on behalf of the State a contract for major rehabilitation work of a major road link in Central Province.
The contract valued at K39, 925, 815.40, inclusive of GST, is for upgrade and sealing of the Hula Road from Gabone to Geno Junction in Central Province covering approximately 49km. This include routine maintenance work from Gabagaba Junction to Gabone (11.5km), upgrade and sealing work from Gabone to Geno covering 23.9km and heavy maintenance work of the section of the road from Geno to Hula covering 13.4km.
The contract will be funded by the World Bank (78%) and the national Government (22%).
Local construction company, Lorma Constructions Ltd was awarded the contract ahead of Dekenai Constructions Ltd and Global Constructions Ltd.
Company Managing Director Mr. Kenneth Korakali and Construction Manager Mr. Danny Korakali signed the contract on behalf of the company witnessed by Secretary of Department of Works Mr. David Wereh. Member for Rigo and Minister for Justice and Attorney General Hon. Ano Pala was present at the signing ceremony at Government House today.
