Youths Against Corruption discuss on crime and Youths in the city

Youths Against Corruption (YACA) is an organization run by youths interested in issues that affect young people in the country, today marked the first YACA forum with the theme: Crime and Youth in the City.
Discussions on how youths can address different issues on crime in groups and group bonding and building discussions, questions and answers were also conducted in the forum in the hope that the information gathered will be beneficial for the Correctional services to assist the growing problem of crime among youths.
Guest Speaker from the PNG Correctional Service Communications Relations officer Sargent Joseph Sila in his main address to the youth said “Many youths have found themselves in the jail system throughout the country and most are educated however because of choices, peer pressure they have found themselves in the system in order for change to occur I encourage you young people to change your mindset only then can your behavior change, and you can follow the right path”.
Sargent Silva concluded by extending an invitation on behalf of the Bomana CS Jail Commander to the YACA youths to visit the institute and hear stories first hand from juveniles’ in the system only then can they fully comprehend what it is like.
