Investigation into shooting incident involving Police and Soldiers yet to start

The joint investigation into the shooting incident involving a soldier and the resulting clash between members of two disciplinary forces in Port Moresby last week is yet to start.
According to the Army’s Chief of Staff, Col. Mark Goina the joint investigation will commence after the investigation team is officially announced by both the police and the defence force, which he is hoping would take place today; however, the Army is still waiting for the Police Commissioner to get back to them on this.
Meantime, the Army has already put together their investigation team comprising of two senior officers, a legal officer and the support staff.
It is understood that the time frame for the investigation is 14 days as per the Terms of Reference for the investigation.
