Police and Soldiers clash in Port Moresby

A stand-off by the two disciplinary forces almost brought Port Moresby city to a standstill today.
The clash stems from a vehicle chase by police, resulting in the death of the driver, and two other passengers injured, one of them a P-N-G Defence Force soldier.
In retaliation to this incident, two truck loads of soldiers ruthlessly attacked policemen at Manu Auto Port Service Station this morning.
In the process two police men were injured whilst, three of their vehicles damaged.
Meanwhile, hierarchies have met today and put the situation under control.
A preliminary investigation team have been put in place to investigate the matter.
