Preparations for APEC meeting on track

Papua New Guinea's APEC 2018 Coordination Authority is on track to deliver its budget for the 2018 event later this year.
Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Hawkins, says the budget will highlight the opportunities the business sector will capitalize on.
Business Advantage reports Mr. Hawkins as saying businesses throughout Port Moresby can expect to find a wide range of opportunities in the lead-up to the APEC leaders' summit over the next three years.
Mr. Hawkins told the 2015 Papua New Guinea Advantage Investment Summit last month businesses that will be directly impacted include transportation and freight, venues, catering, uniforms, communications, and everything from gifts and handy crafts, as they will be out-sourced.
He says, how the private sector in P-N-G would benefit would be revealed when the Authority submits its budget later this year.
The summit is taking place in P-N-G for the first time in 2018, leaving only Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei as the only APEC economies yet to host the event.
