TRUKAI ANNOUNCES K5, 000 INCENTIVE

Trukai Industries announced today a K5, 000 incentive for Papua New Guinea’s weightlifters.
“For every gold won by any of our PNG weightlifters, the company will award K5, 000 to that athlete,”
announced Andrew Daubney, Trukai Industries Sales & Marketing General Manager.
This announcement follows on from a vehicle presentation by Trukai Industries to the PNG Weightlifting
Federation, last Friday, which was received by President Sir John Dawanincura and witnessed by his
Secretary, Fred Oala and senior managers of the rice company.
“We are proud to be associated with an elite sport that’s done PNG proud. Dika Toua and Steven Kari won gold for the country during the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and we are confident of more gold being won in the XV Pacific Games,” said Mr Daubney.
Trukai Industries has been a major sponsor of the PNG Weightlifting Federation since the year 2000 and has supported the code both financially and through the provision of merchandise and rice.
The PNG Weightlifters take the lifting platform for their first lift this Sunday at the PNG Power Dome at 11 o’clock in the morning, with Thelma Toua making her debut in an international sporting scene, in the 48kg category.
“Trukai Industries is confident on Dika and her younger sister, performing well this Sunday and of course, we have the likes of Steven Kari and young Fred Oala Jnr who we have high hopes on, as well,” added Mr Daubney.
He also wished the PNG weightlifters the very best in their competition and the same to Team PNG and
visiting teams.
