PNG Pacific Games athletes to get payments soon

PNG Pacific Games 9s team in action. 
The Pacific Games Medalists from Papua New Guinea will get payments soon after PNG government announced the cash incentives for athletes that took part in the recent Pacific Games. The payments will be made to athletes bank account. Prime Minister Peter O'Neill also announced that atheletes who did not win any medal during the games will also be paid. 

The payments will be made as soon as the official sponsor of the games BSP sorts out the bank details of every athlete.

However, Minister Tkatchenko said his office was only waiting for a full detailed of the medal tallies and the details of the athletes in order for them to process the payment.

The initial allocation was K5. 8 million but that has increased by another K700 000 bring a total of K6.5 million.

He said the monies should be ready in the next two weeks for the PNG Olympic Committee to administer and paid into the bank details provided.
