Lapua replaces Abavu on the wing for Hunters

COACH Michael Marum and his SP Hunters enjoying their best run in the Intrust Super Cup host Central Queensland Capras in their Round 16 match at the Kalabond Oval this Sunday.

After scoring eight wins in a row, the SP Hunters have the ideal opportunity to extend that to nine straight wins and hope that Ipswich Jets crash in Saturday’s game against reigning premiers Northern Pride at Barlow Park in Cairns.

The Jets and Hunters are on 24 points but are perched in second and third respectively, that separation due to percentage – points for and against.

Coach Marum has made slight adjustments to the side that held off Tweed Heads Seagulls 32-24 on the Gold Coast bringing in David Lapua on the wing and promoting Timothy Lomai from the interchange bench to back row. Lapua replaces Bland Abavu, and Lomai in for Lawrence Tu’u who have been named on the extended interchange bench, that includes Nickson Borana.
