Pomio Writs to be issued next week
The Electoral Commission will issue Writs for the Pomio by-election in East New Britain, next Thursday.
Electoral Commissioner, Andrew Trawen, says nominations will close on the 18th of this month with polling to run from May 9 to 22 and Writs returned on or before Friday, June 11.
Mr. Trawen says, the Pomio by-election will cost three-point-four-million Kina.
Assistant Election Manager for East New Britain, Theresa Sam, will be the Returning Officer for this by-election, with six Assistants in the six L-L-G's in the District.
Mr. Trawen says, preparations for the Autonomous Bougainville Government elections this month, are going smoothly.
He says, a by-election for Goilala District will also be held, but no dates have yet been set.
