BSP launches new mobile banking app

Bank South Pacific yesterday launched its Mobile Banking Application (App) – the bank’s newest way of offering banking solutions for its customers.
The product was launched in Port Moresby with customers who lined up to sign up for the product.
BSP Mobile Banking App, available on Google Play Store, Windows App and App Stores, is another avenue for BSP customers to do their banking.
Deputy general manager retail Banking Kili Tambua said as more Papua New Guineans became knowledgeable, BSP had to change its approaches in the way it offered services to its customers.
“We began with mobile banking, internet banking, and now the Mobile Banking App, which caters for the growing number of our customers who have smartphones.
“This is part of our efforts in ensuring that we make financial services more accessible for our customers which saves them valuable time and money.”
The new BSP Mobile Banking App enables customers to conduct transactions which include;
Transfer of funds between one’s BSP account and other BSP accounts;
third party transfers within BSP or with other banks; and,
Transfer of funds to others without bank accounts using WantokMoni.
Users can pay bills or schedule payments, top up prepaid mobile phones and easiPAY electricity units, as well as view, edit, or delete scheduled transfers or payments.
Head of channel development retail banking Natasha Sirimai said BSP Mobile Banking App incorporates Mobile Banking together with Internet Banking.
“A requirement to be activated to use the mobile banking app is that you have to be a mobile banking registered customer,” she said.
