Soldiers arrested over attack on Medical Students

Two soldiers have been arrested over the weekend attack at UPNG's School of Medicine and Health Science at Three Mile.

At a news conference y
esterday, Defence Minister Dr Fabian Pok says a full scale investigation will start this week and those found guilty will be immediately dismissed from the force.

Minister Pok says this is the first and the last time he wants to see such actions as its degrading. 

He wants officers involved and found guilty dismissed immediately.

"Disciplinary charges will be laid against those that went and if found guilty, they will be dealt with severely and immediately removed from the Defence Force."

Dr Pok says the actions of the soldiers over the weekend is an embarrassment to the nation. 

A Colonel will be appointed this week to head investigations and Minister Pok assures they will get to the bottom of this.

"I have now directed the Commander to appoint a Colonel to do the full investigation to find out exactly what happened and why it happened."
