RH to Build K375 million Hotel at Vision City

THE groundbreaking ceremony for a new K375 million hotel and entertainment complex next to the Vision City Mega Mall, will be carried out tomorrow by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and RH Group chairman Tan Seri Sir Tiong Hiew King.

To be known as the ‘Raintree Hotel and Suites by Vision City’, the new project promises to be the biggest, most prestigious hotel Papua New Guinea has ever seen, with a raintree and rainforest theme.

With 438 rooms, including 99 apartments, the five-star hotel will boast a 1,700sqm ballroom capable of seating 1,200 guests.

Construction starts in mid-2013 and completion is expected by mid-2015
“For those looking for somewhere more intimate to hold a function, there will be a total of 13 stylish function rooms to choose from,” the hotel management said.

“A lavish private lounge and a large, fully-equipped gymnasium will set this new hotel head and shoulders above the rest."

“Those lucky enough to stay at the new hotel will find it difficult to leave the stunning 2,500sqm pool deck and private entertaining area."

“With such extensive facilities, this hotel will set a new standard for excellence in PNG.”

To complement the hotel, an extension to the adjoining Vision City Mega Mall will see the creation of 30 new specialty shops plus more than 500 additional car parking spaces, the management said.

“The sheer size and scale of this project means that it will provide a significant boost to the local economy.”

Planners forecast that more than 700 Papua New Guineans will be employed in the new complex. The National
