Shortage of nurses big issue in Papua New Guinea

Patient and health staff confrontations will increase with the lack of health staff, especially nurses to serve patients in hospitals and clinics in Papua New Guinea.
That is the concern now following a couple of incidences already at a hospital in one of the highlands provinces.
According to Lisa Iki, the Director of Nursing at the Kundiawa Hospital, a doctor from that particular hospital was attacked by angry relatives of patients due to slow services.
She fears this could happen to them if nothing is done by the government to have more nurses trained to work. This issue she says is faced in many parts of the country.
