PNG Women’s Cricket Team Selections for Pacific Games

The National Regional Women’s Cricket Championship held over the weekend was a qualifier event to select and prepare PNG Women’s Cricket team leading up to the Games in July.
In the two day event, the women displayed classic cricket skills, their performance quite outstanding with a quality level of fielding despite the grounds being challenging.
Their performance shows that they are committed to the higher level of training than they have been receiving so far.
Outstanding performances were seen at the Championship from some of PNG’s talented female players in the likes of Brenda Tau ( best fielder), Helen Buruka (best batswomen) and Ravini Oa (best bowler).
It also provided an opportunity for the girls to push for the selection and preparations for the Games by taking on the challenges to perform at a higher level.
