Man set alight by angry villages in East New Britain, PNG

A man was set alight by angry villagers early Monday at the Gelegele resettlement area in Kokopo, East New Britain.
Police reported that the man was attacked by the villagers to stop him from harming anyone else, after he killed his relatives and severely injured his neighbors.
The man was believed to have taken drugs, which caused him to lose control and attack his sister and her young daughter, killing them.
Police say, he then used a bush knife to attack two of his neighbors.
The community quickly mobilized and attacked the man, resulting in his death.
Provincial Police Commander Anthony Wagambie Junior says the man was set alight by the angry mob before police attended to the incident, suspecting him of practicing cult.
He says, police are investigating.
