JIM TAMATE IS NEW PUBLIC SOLICITOR

Jim Wala Tamate was sworn in today by the Deputy Chief Justice Gibbs Salika as the new Public Solicitor taking over the office from outgoing Public Solicitor Frazer Pitpit.

Mr. Tamate has been appointed to the top job for six years and has received congratulatory remarks from the DCJ Gibbs Salika on behalf of the Judiciary for putting his hand up to take up the responsibility to serve the people and the nation.

Justice Salika also thanked outgoing Public Solicitor Frazer Pitpit for serving the people while in office for the last 12 years and said he did well despite the challenges faced.

Secretary for Justice Dr. Lawrence Kalinoe gave his assurance that the Department had confidence in Mr. Tamate and said they believed he would discharge his duties and responsibilities to expectation.
