PNG Police investigate Chief Justice attack

Papua New Guinea Police have been deployed to Tsak Valley in Wapenamanda, Enga province to investigate the attack on PNG Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia.
Wabag Police Station Commander Inspector John Waesa said the Chief Justice was attacked while on his way from Tsak Valley in Wapemanda and sustained injuries.
His close protection officers were injured in the attack as well.
Inspector Waesa said Provincial Police Commander Chief Inspector Geroge Kakas sent in Police officers to investigate the attack.
Waesa said from the reports received the Chief Justice was attacked on his way to Wapenamanda by some of youths from his neighboring tribe.
He said police will be hard on the culprits who attacked a highly respected member of community and country as a whole.
He urged the attackers to surrender to police or face the full force of the law.
The Chief Justice is well but nursing injuries sustained during the attack.
