PNG Customs Office rental issues to be sorted out today

PNG Customs officers, staffs and the Commissioner were locked out of the PNG Customs Headquarters today in Port Moresby following unpaid rental fees.

The Customs Commissioner, Mr. Ray Paul didn’t disclose the rental amount owed to the landlord, Pacific Palms Property but said this matter will be sorted out today.

However, the closure of the PNG Customs Headquarter has not affected business today because other Customs offices around the city are open, plus much of the work is done electronically to ensure work continues.
Commissioner Paul said the issue with funding is not only faced by his office, but also by other government departments as well.
