FIFA World Cup to tour Port Moresby in February

The 2018 FIFA World Cup Trophy will be making an appearance in Port Moresby on February 1st.

Sponsored by Coca Cola, the trophy tour was launched in host country, Russia last September, where it toured the country.

In December, the trophy began its 50-countries tour across six continents.

No official confirmation from PNG Football Association has been made as to which route the trophy will in Papua New Guinea, but it is confirmed the trophy will be in the country from 01 February.

It is expected to return to Russia in May, ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The World Cup kicks off on the 14 June, and ends on 15 July.

The eight-pool competition will see 32 nations battle for the trophy.

So far, Africa has five qualified teams, and likewise for Asia. Europe holds the highest of 14 teams, while the Americas have three teams.
