Contact PNGRFL for PNG Players Overseas engagements

The PNG Rugby Football League is reviewing prior arrangement for player transfers to ensure better access for Papua New Guinea players by overseas player managers.

PNGRFL chief executive officer Reatau Rau said they were working on arranging better access for the PNG players market, but for time being they are calling for interested overseas clubs to contact the PNGRFL if they were interested in the Hunters players.

“There were existing arrangements done many years ago during the former CEOs time through a player manager called Steve Lincoln,” Rau said.

“In the last 12 months, we have been trying to review those so that we have most of the players available and are accessible to other player managers.

“So at this stage, we have these existing arrangements in place.”

Rau added that with a successful Intrust Super Cup campaign by the PNG Hunters and an exceptional 2017 Rugby League World Cup campaign by the Kumuls, the PNGRFL would like interested clubs overseas to contact the PNGRFL and the Hunters coaching staff as well.

“We are also asking other clubs interested to preferably contact the PNG Rugby Football League, so that we will guide them along because all player information is with the coaching and football operations or (Hunters) coach Michael Marum and team,” Rau said.

Any club interested in our current Kumuls or our Hunters players should get in touch with our PNGRFL office and we will connect them through to Marum because he has all the statistics from a coach’s perspective,” Rau said.
