Solomon Islands PPC Western Province reminds public to ‘think safety first’

Solomon Islands  Western Provincial Police commander , Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu call on motorist and boat drivers in Western Province to be reminded of think safety first before travelling on land and sea due to the current bad weather situation.

“I want to remind the general public in Gizo, Munda and Noro town especially vehicle owners and drivers to take precautionary measures when travelling on the roads during bad weather. Think about your safety and the road users. Do not drink and drive,” Said Mr Lenialu.

He added: “I also appeal to Outboard motor (OBM) owners and drivers to think seriously about their safety and the passengers at sea and make sure listen to the weather forecast issued by the Metrology Services. Ensure that all your marine equipment is packed and notify others where you are travelling to and your expected time of arrival.”

PPC Western further stated:  “As we are now in the festive season, it is good and very important that drivers must make good decisions and put safety first as priority before travelling to other islands and on the roads in and around Western Province. Make this Christmas season a safe festive season for us.”
