AllcomMcr a brew for success

Digicel Business-owned company AllcomMcr has helped PNG’s favourite beer company, SP Brewery, upgrade its IT systems, resulting in a sophisticated network that now connects all of the company’s offices nationwide.

After being acquired by a global beer company in 2012, the South Pacific Brewery developed its operations to a world-class level to apply the same standard as its new parent company’s other breweries globally.

As an existing customer of Digicel since 2007, SP Brewery turned to AllcomMcr to install state-of-the-art IT infrastructure to help the company achieve their goal by implementing a new desktop environment, the ‘Standard Operating Environment’.

“Digicel Business has always been in front to offer the latest ICT technology in PNG, which is what SP Brewery was looking for. AllcomMcr was acquired by Digicel Business two years ago, and I am really happy to see it continue to grow by bringing more value to our existing customers,” said Gary Cobain, Head of Digicel Business.

Prior to that major upgrading operation, AllcomMcr started providing ICT professional services to SP Brewery for over the last 12 months. It has also provided professional services including network health checks and upgrading its server. SP Brewery also requested AllcomMcr’s expertise on providing and installing Cisco equipment such as switches and smartnets, power supplies, wireless controller, access points and router. AllcomMcr is a Certified Cisco Gold Partner in PNG.

SP Brewery Business Control Director Shun Shou said the beer company contacted AllcomMcr as a result of its positive existing relationship with Digicel.

“AllcomMcr pays attention to our queries and comes up with innovative solutions to relevant issues regarding our network. Their customer support is responsive,” he said.

Through this partnership, over the space of three weeks, AllcomMcr installed the new global company’s standard operating environment on more than 200 computers and laptops, migrating all users’ files from existing PCs/Laptops to the new devices.

“This is the first time I’ve seen a team so dedicated, three weeks is a world record for this kind of work. They worked tirelessly for 21 days, to complete this project,” said Shun.
