PNG to host World Longboard surfing Championship

For the first time ever, Papua New Guinea is set to host the world Longboard Surfing championships in Madang from March the 18th-the 25th
This was disclosed by the President of the PNG Surfing Association Mr Andrew Abel to members of the media today.
It is understood that this event is set to take place in Tupira of the Bogia district in Madang province.
Major sponsors the Kumul Consolidated Holdings having naming rights to what will be the 2017 PNG Kumul World Longboard surfing tour.
“I want to also thank our sponsors and the Tourism Promotion Authority PNG for their support of a K200, 000 cheque today.”
Mr Abel added, “This is a positive step for surfing, the tourism industry and nation at large to have such a prestigious international event on our shores.”
“Moreover, this event will showcase not only surfing but food, culture and the diversity that is PNG.” PNGFM
