PORT MORESBY ON LOAD SHEDDING FOR INDEFINITE PERIOD

This is an emergency notice to you and the general public in NCD and surrounding areas that load shedding is being carried out throughout the city today due to shortfall in generation capacity.
The load shedding exercise will go on for an indefinite period until the problems on a gas turbine at Moitaka power station and the Statcom at Boroko substation are fixed.
Electricity supply should return to normal after next week when spare parts are received from overseas. Customers with standby generators are asked to use them during this period.
