24 years old Hilda Nungi from Dei District in the Western Highlands Province was murdered in broad day light by thugs while she was walking towards Mt Hagen Kopi from the Queens Park.

According to the Police boss for WHP Martin Lakari, the incident happened last week on the 31st of December around 11 o’ clock in the morning.

“The young girl was stabbed with a kitchen knife which penetrated right through her lung and she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Mt Hagen hospital,” said Lakari.

“What happened to her is so in human and whoever did this to her doesn’t deserve to live on this planet.”

Police are investigating her death and they are calling on the public to come forward if they have any information on the suspects involved in this murder case.
