Prime Minister O'Neill calls on Eastern Highlands and Hela leaders to solve differences

Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, has appealed to the leaders of Eastern Highlands and Hela Provinces to put aside their disagreements and work together in a mature manner that is in the interests of their people.
Mr. O'Neill said, the differences of opinion that have been highlighted between the leadership of both provinces is theirs alone and the leaders should focus their energy on developing their provinces, and stimulating their economies.
He says, the focus should be on developing and rolling out services in the provinces, adding leaders must work together to provide stability that is needed to achieve greater development.
Mr. O'Neill, further says the Government does not have the power to intervene in the situation, but is concerned about the instability of leadership in Hela, and they are concerned with problems in the public service machinery in the Eastern highlands. He encouraged all parties to respect the rule of law and to resolve differences in a way that puts the interests of the people and community above that of any individual.
