PNG Soldiers reminded to uphold discipline

Papua New Guinea Defence Force soldiers have been reminded to uphold the image of the disciplined force and not tarnish it in any way, either on or off duty.
Brigadier General, Gilbert Toropo said this today, during the Commander's parade at the Defence Force Headquarters at Murray Barracks in Port Moresby.
Commander Toropo, says discipline is what the force prides itself with, and officers must continue this tradition.
He says, 2015 has been both a challenging and successful year for the force.
Diverting from the three instances of police and defence forces clashes this year, Brigadier General Toropo, says 2015 has turned out well for the force.
The year was dedicated to Non-Commissioned Officers, a year of training and up-skilling, which Commander Toropo says, will continue into 2016.
Despite up to four officers falling out of parade under the heat of the Port Moresby sun, nine others, including two members of the Australian Defence Force and the New Zealand Defence Force were awarded the Commander's Commendation Medal.
Four other N-C-O's were promoted to higher ranks during the parade.
