CHESHIRE HOME CELEBRATES DISABILITY DAY

Excitement was in the air as students of Cheshire Disability Centre and Early Childhood Class graced the graduation aisle in their graduation gowns.
The graduation staged to also mark the International Day of Persons with Disability (PWD) was packed with excited families, friends and partners of the Cheshire home who were eager to witness the students graduating and being integrated to join mainstream public schools next year.
One student Sarah Sevesoa who graduated yesterday and will be doing grade 6 next year, after thanking her teachers, mentors and the Cheshire home staff said she looks forward to join other children in public school next year.
Of the 37 graduating batch, one girl Sophia Dugume 21, will be going to a vocational school next year, while the rest will be taking on primary education. Parents were urged to work with their children as main stream schools do not have the full capacity to cater for the needs of this students with special needs.
