Men facing abduction and sexual penetration charges

THREE men facing charges of abduction, deprivation of personal rights and sexual penetration will make submissions in the committal court next week.
The court will decide after their submissions whether there is sufficient evidence to have the case tried in the National Court.
Committal Court Magistrate Cosmas Bidar adjourned their cases to next Tuesday after police prosecutor Chris Iga requested a week’s adjournment to allow the defence lawyer to complete the submission.
Iga said the lawyer was attending to other court matters.
The three are Frank John and Ganima Samuel from Chimbu and Dakana Las from Western Highlands.
The three and another man allegedly held up the girls at Baruniwhile on their way to their homes on the night of April 3.
They allegedly took the girls to a spot near the Baruni Dump and committed the offences.
The girls were aged 13 and 16 at that time.
Their bail have been extended
