BSP is gold sponsor of Sepik River Crocodile Festival

BSP has been a proud Gold supporter of the Festival since 2011 and this year marks the sixth year running that the bank has supported the event.

Present to receive the cheque was festival vice chairman Paul Gomiar. Mr Gomiar was grateful for the support of the bank towards festival over the years.

"On behalf of the Sepik River Crocodile Festival Organising Committee I thank BSP for the on-going sponsorship to the event," Mr Gomiar said.

"The Festival is one of the important cultural events on the Sepik that show cases the diverse cultures and heritage of the people along the Sepik River," Mr Gomiar added.

BSP Wewak Branch Manager Albert Seri who presented the cheque that BSP recognised the importance of such cultural events in the community.

"We are proud to continue our association to this significant event in East Sepik and as a PNG owned bank we recognize the effort of keeping our culture alive for generations to come," Mr Seri said.

Mr Seri added, "That there will be a BSP booth during the festival which the team will open new account and provide various banking solutions to the people in Ambunti and to those who attend the festival."

The Sepik River Crocodile Festival is a unique cultural event that was initiated in 2006. This year the event will be held from the 05th-07th August 2015 in Ambunti.

The festival show cases diverse culture background of the people of Ambunti and those who leave along the Sepik River and nearby districts.

The festival attracts a lot of tourist from around the world. Over 260 tourists attended the festival last year.
