New overhead footbridge to be built over Waigani Drive

Port Moresby will have another overhead footbridge.  The footbridge will be built over the Waigani Drive near Vision City. The bridge will connect the City Hall and Vision City Center. It will cost K6million to build the footbridge.

The bridge will not only provide safe crossing to pedestrians but have shops where pedestrians can buy food and drinks.
National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop said the city was transforming very fast and people must be ready to embrace change.
He said more overhead bridges and roads would be built to cater for the increase in traffic and people.
Phoenix Builders have been contracted to build the bridge.
“They will build this bridge with their own money and expertise and submit their quotation to the NCDC for payment,” Parkop said during the groundbreaking ceremony. “We are confident that they will deliver a world class infrastructure that we all should enjoy and be proud of.”
