TAEKWONDO PNG ANNOUNCES PACIFIC GAMES TEAM

Taekwondo PNG has today announced the final team that will compete in the Pacific Games in July.
The 16 men team comprises of 8 men and 8 women who are in training right now.
PNG Taekwondo was given K50,000 for their preparations but officials say it was still not enough to train the team.
An appeal was made to the sporting committee which saw them receive K200,000 which has enabled them to go ahead with their preparation.
Head coach, Mr Edward Kassman says the team is broken up into two groups which one, who are athletes currently training in Adelaide, while at the same time are competing in tournaments.
The other group is currently training here in Port Moresby at the Caritas Technical Secondary School facility, each Mondays and Wednesdays and at the High Performance Centre every Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Two ladies are currently training in Korea and they are Rose Tona and Rahab Loi.
“Another female to look out for during the Games is Noeline Hetana who also has the ability to be a Gold Medal Winner.
