Tambul-Nebilyer MP Benjamin Poponawa is concerned, that news outlets are misreporting his party affiliation.
Poponawa said, in July this year, several of his colleagues including himself, have made a collective decision to leave THE Party and join the People’s National Congress Party.
He said, wrong reporting on this change has caused anxiety and anger among his people and he's demanding a correction.
Poponawa, said they joined P-N-C to ensure stability, so the Government can continue to deliver its development programs.
He adds, stability in Government is vital for a rural electorate like his Tambul-Nebilyer District, that has been neglected for so long.
Mr Poponawa said, their move was legally done and he had consulted with his people before moving to the P-N-C.
Meantime, THE party is expected to join the Opposition before Parliament sits next month, a decision welcomed by its Deputy Leader Sam Basil.
